Optima Financial Ltd become Trident Securities Limited in 1989,
finally merging in 1997 with an Auckland financial planning practice to become
the Christchurch branch of Rutherford Rede. In 2010 Rutherford Rede
Christchurch was merged with the Camelot NZ Limited Partnership.

Phil Harris has a long association with the financial planning industry in NZ. As a board member of the IAFP NZ Inc during its early years of operation (1991/1992) he has been involved at both a regional and national level in the development of the New Zealand financial planning industry.
In 1979, Phil joined Broadbank Corporation Ltd, where he was primarily involved in the various aspects of foreign exchange dealing on both the spot and forward markets. During this period, he also gained experience in international trade financing and money market operations.
Phil spent four years in London on special accounting projects, gaining experience in the overseas unit trust industry. On his return to New Zealand, he worked in the NZ Wool Futures exchange, before forming Optima Financial Ltd in 1986, which specialised in personal financial planning. Subsequently Optima became Trident Securities, which merged with FPA Associates to become Rutherford Rede.

Eru joined Camelot NZLP in October 2011, prior to this Eru was the Director of Insurance Solutions (Insurance Brokers). Eru is a risk writer only and does not write any investment business. He has been an insurance adviser since 1997 (14 years) and gives advice on all personal and business risk management. Eru is currently working towards his National Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) and also working towards his Diploma in Business Studies through Massey University.
Eru was born in Waiouru Military Camp and spent his early childhood years in Malaysia, Singapore and Australia before attending Waihi Boys School and Christ's College. From school he joined the New Zealand Army (serving as a rifleman in 2/1 Battalion, Burnham). He then spent 5 years travelling in Asia, Europe, North America and Africa. Since returning to New Zealand, Eru has worked in sales and management roles.
